Midway Fire Company Sta 5 and Sta 15
Buckingham Twp., Bucks Co.  

The Midway Fire Company held their Fire Prevention Open House on the evening of Oct. 5th. The open house was held at the Midway FC training/carnival grounds. Stations 5 and 15 had their apparatus on display and both kids and adults were able to go on "fire truck rides". Also on hand was the Doylestown Fire Co.'s "Fire Safety House" where kids can be educated on what to do in case of a fire. There were also two demos preformed for the attendees. First was a vehicle extrication demo in which firefighters used extrication tools to do door removal (both driver's and passenger's) as well as a roof removal. Firefighters then did a live car fire demo in which a pick-up truck that had been made "safe" (motor, fuel tank, etc. removed) was set on fire using straw and flares with a simulated response made by an engine company to extinguish the blaze. Also, University MedEvac 5 based at Doylestown Hosp. was present for the public to see.
