Residence fire

Firefighters arrived on-scene with heavy fire showing from the rear of a 2-story single family dwelling, with the fire extending to the 2nd floor and the attic area. The fire apparently began in the basement before extending upward. No one was at home at the time the fire broke out, but a 10-year-old Rottweiler died of smoke inhalation and several cats were rescued from the house.  Penndel Sta. 8 firefighters were assisted by units from William Penn Sta. 77, Parkland Sta. 9, Langhorne-Middletown Sta. 21 and Newtown Sta. 45.
